Privacy policy

OkoaSkin is a free ingredient checker. We collect as little data as we need to run the site and nothing more. This page explains what is collected, why, and how long we keep it.

What you submit to the analyzer

When you paste an ingredient list or upload a product photo, we send the content to our server to parse, match, and rate it. Photos are additionally sent to Google Gemini for OCR (optical character recognition). We do not share uploaded photos with anyone else and do not retain them after processing.

What we store

Every analysis is stored with a random short ID so that you can share a link or revisit your own result. The stored record contains the parsed ingredient list and the structured analysis output, plus a timestamp. It does not contain your name, email, IP address, or any identifier that ties the analysis back to you. Anyone with the URL can view the analysis.

What we do not do

We do not require accounts. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not build a profile of you across sessions.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Web Vitals to measure page performance and aggregate traffic. These are configured in privacy-preserving mode: visitor data is hashed on-edge and no cookies are set. We cannot identify individual visitors from this data.

Cookies

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies you may see are functional cookies set by Vercel for edge routing.

Data deletion

If you would like an analysis deleted, email us the URL and we will remove the record. Because analyses contain no personal identifiers, deletion is the only meaningful action we can take.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
